funny... this really is all happenstance. i am like "what is TJI?" and duh... ok, i make sense of it.... and then i am like, getting cute for another kind of TJI, and i hit on updike. and then i am thinking about updike for a second, and CHEEVER comes right to mind -- because i remember reading "The Swimmer" and thinking "Oh... why did updike even bother? this guy nailed it once and for all....." and so OK, i've got cheever.... and then i have ROTH too... i mean, he captured that same middle class thing PLUS he was a little risque too, wrote about sex and smoking.... ok, so i have smoked my share... and my memory.... what was i saying?

anyway, now BUKOWSKI comes to mind, but no.... he is too far removed for my post about TJI/UPDIKE

HEY NOW! that was really good now wasn't it? JOHN UPDIKE: rest in peace you stuffy motherfucker.......

Blutarsky? My literary experience outside of straightup historical pieces is pathetic, but you've gotta love Blutarsky; I know SDH does...and with each of the above references all I could think of was Belushi...
